Mill Creek Cheerleading is a recreational cheer program that operates as a part of the Mill Creek Athletic Association. We operate in conjunction with the MCAA Football program and have one cheer squad per football team in each age division. Our program is for 1st through 8th graders and per Gwinnett Football League rules, all girls cheer their current school grade with no exceptions. We are a sideline spirit cheer program, not a competition program.

REGISTRATION and MANDATORY UNIFORM FITTINGS- are March 24th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mill Creek High School. It is a two part registration: online and uniform fittings. You may register online from home or on computers provided at MCHS between 10 and 2. You MUST then attend the uniform fitting portion of the registration, also between 10 and 2, at MCHS. You are not registered until you complete both parts.

All Cheerleaders MUST register online on March 24th from 10am to 2pm either from home or at MCHS! .

Squad Placement- Per GFL rules, girls will be drafted onto squads on July 21st. WE CANNOT MAKE ANY PROMISES REGARDING PLACEMENT REQUESTS. We will be happy to pass requests along to the coaches but cannot guarantee placement.

PRACTICE- Practices begin the week of July 23rd. Before school starts, practices can be 2 hours long. Once school starts, the practice time is limited to 1½ hours with the exception of 8th grade. Squads in grades 1-5 tend to practice between the hours of 6:00-8:30pm. Some middle school squads practice after school. It is up to the parents/coach to arrange transportation for after school practices. Your cheerleading coach will determine the hours and the location that your squad will practice. Please plan vacations prior to this date!
All squads will practice at either Bogan Park, Osborne Middle or Duncan Creek Park.

CAMP- EVERY CHEERLEADER must attend cheer camp. 2012 Cheer Camp will be held at MillCreek High School, date TBA. Camp is where we will learn halftime routines, cheers, chants, jumps, etc... Any cheerleader who misses camp runs the risk of falling behind and is responsible for learning the material taught at camp.

CHEER-OFF 2012 is tentatively scheduled for October 7 at the Gwinnett Arena. All of our squads, grades 1st-8th will attend Cheer-off this season. Expect additional practices to prepare for cheer-off. Many squads plan to learn their Cheer-off routine the 1st week of practice. Parents may opt to NOT have their daughter participate in Cheer-Off but must inform the coach of this no later than August 15. Mascots do not participate in Cheer Off.

GAMES- Our games begin with the Jamboree on August 11 and are played at parks and schools around Gwinnett County. We typically have games over Labor Day weekend. The last regular season game is October 13 and November 10 is Championship Game Day.

BIRTH CERTIFICATE- If your daughter is new to our program, a copy of her birth certificate must be handed in at registration.
